Get it Daddy-O...

As you can see from the comments people are in love with Obama's image and the chance to elect a black man as President of this great country. It is form over substance, and the mindless, blinding stupidity of a voting public that can't pull the facts out of the much biased media coverage of this election.

I am encouraged that our country has come to the point where we are on the brink of electing an African-American as our next President. It is unfortunate that Obama is just the wrong choice in so many ways.

If you want a socialist nation like you can find in Europe then, Barak is your man. If you want to waste the thousands of lives that America has sacrificed in Iraq by pulling out too soon then, Barak is your man. If you want a nationalized health care system like they have in Canada where people have to get on a waiting list for medical procedures and surgeries, Barak is your man. If you believe that sucking out the brains of an infant child just prior to its being born is justified as abortion, and is not murder, Barak is your man. If you want to revisit the communism of the old Soviet Union by pulling down those who aspire to greatness, and innovation, and prosperity in order to lift up those who are unwilling to work hard for the same chance, Barak is your man. If you want another incarnation of the failed policies of Jimmy Carter, Barak is your man.

By the way, I have a few questions for all of you ready to vote for Mr. Obama because he will bring change. What kind of change will he bring? What good substantive change will we have if Obama is elected? All of you married middle class voters who support Obama: are you ready for the reinstatement of the marriage tax penalties in 2010 if your candidate is elected? Look at this link if you don’t understand what I am talking about: http://marriage.about.com/b/2008/04/15/what-is-the-marriage-tax-penalty.htm . How will we pay for Barak’s Healthcare plan? Higher taxes anyone? On energy, are you ready to give up your SUV because of higher gas prices than we have now? Are you willing to sacrifice just because we will not drill now, while we develop alternative energy sources? Remember change is not always good!

I am a working middle class man who works two jobs, and my wife works two jobs as well. I do this because, frankly, I need the money to maintain my current lifestyle, and help my daughter through college. It is a choice that I have made. We live in a country where anyone has a chance to succeed through hard work and perseverance. My point is that the government was never intended to make sure everyone here has plenty of money to meet their needs. Health care contrary to what was said earlier is not a right. We all have the right to work as hard as we want to in order to create wealth, and a comfortable lifestyle. Our government exists to provide the environment for individuals to succeed, and to protect us from external threats.

I will close with this. The Preamble to our Constitution says what the founding fathers felt about the function of government: “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America”. Government is not the source for what “We the People” need. It provides the framework for hard working and innovative individuals to use their God given abilities and intelligence to succeed and be useful citizens of these United States.

Anytime. My dad sent this to me after he posted it on some news site and I just felt the need to share.
Being an International Studies major at Uni I talk politics, ALOT. So, it's hard to completely avoid mentioning them in my blog.
