The Ordinary and the Extraordinary

Over Christmas break I made it my goal to take as many portraits as possible. I feel that, as a photographer, it's my weakness. I love taking pictures of historic places and random objects, but capturing the spirit of a person is another story. These certainly aren't perfect-- I have a long way to go. But everyone has to start somewhere, right? Thankfully, I'm lucky to have fabulous friends who put up with me bossing them around for a few hours. Here are the results of a month of hard work. Enjoy!

Thanks to the lovely Raines sisters who allowed me to take their Christmas pictures. Glad they had enough faith in my abilities, especially since these were a Christmas present for their mom.

One of my best friends was gracious enough to trudge out in the sweltering heat and endure me bossing her around for a couple of hours. I'm rather pleased with how this set turned out.

Leanne, Brandi, Emily, and Kayla certainly made my job hard at first, but they were hyper enough to put up with all of my crazy ideas and traipsing around town. Thanks ladies!

I think, oftentimes, we forget what a beautiful place we live in. Home becomes the ordinary and the everyday, but this photoshoot with Tor and Yona helped make home feel maybe just a little magical again.

When I'm over there, I hope that you'll allow me the honor of being in one of your photo shoots!
Your photo's are so inspiring and I would love to be able to produce the images that you do. Unfortunately I have neither the skill or a good enough camera.
Keep those gems coming!

It's important to see the beauty of your home. I find my self too often forgetting the lovely woods, hills here in Oslo...I'm very lucky to have the opportunity to live in Oslo, the biggest city in Norway, but in the same time with fresh air and green lounges right outside my door..

Thank you so much for reminding me of the loveliness!xx
